Stancija and the nearby town of Vodnjan are on the famous Wine Routes as well as Olive-oil Trails of Istria, both having been produced in the area since the Phoenician and Greek times many centuries ago. Beach lovers are never too far from a number of hidden coves with white pebbles, small or large bays or rocky sun-drenched fragrant reefs. Within a short drive are beaches of Fazana and Duga Uvala, not much farther is the famous Rovinj with it's green bays.
You might like to dance the night away during the Rovinj Summer Salsa Festival in June. Spend an unforgettable day at the Brioni Islands National Park finding out why Richard Burton and Sophia Loren spent so much of their time their and how come over a hundred heads of state visited then president Tito during his time here. Main town of Pula is known for it’s Arena – the third largest and best preserved Roman amphitheatre in the world after Rome and Verona, here too you can see the most famous world artists perform in unbelievable setting under the stars – this summer you can watch Elton John, Sinead O’Connor, Michael Bolton, Imperial Russian Ballet and many others … !
Late in July the nearby hill town of Motovun features what is a European equivalent of the Sundance film festival for independent productions, whilst at the same town the small town of San Vincenti just down the road became famous for the Dance Festival. If all this is not enough – you can join the early morning departure excursion by the fast catamaran service and spend a day in Venice!
